Tamukke Feminists

Tamùkke Feminists is an intersectional feminist collective that centers community care, women's rights and gender justice in Guyana. Testimonials

Mind Fund Testimonials

I am thankful for the opportunity to access therapy with help from the mind fund & tamukke. I have experienced nothing but support and attentiveness at a time in my life where I decided to challenge myself. The Mind Fund has really been a stepping stone towards new transformations in my life.

From the first approach I felt comfortable and most of all I felt as if someone was actually listening to understand and not just to hear. Even though I know in my head that my life matters, after the first session I that knowledge is beginning to reach my heart. I know there’s a far way to go however, I am thankful for this initiative to provide therapy for women like myself who live in denial and suffer in so many ways…the journey has begun.

I was having a very hard time and really needed help. Somebody told me that some people were giving free counseling. I didn’t know what to think. I thought it would have taken long but they called right away and by the next day the counselor called. It has been wonderful, having someone to talk to that listens to you, that cares how you are feeling and what you have to say. It has made me more comfortable with myself and I am no longer afraid to be myself around people. This is a really good thing this group doing.
